THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD WINDOWS
"In Thy light we shall see Light." Psalms 35:10
The theme of the window design it the triumph of light over darkness. The power of God in the Person of Christ, the Light of the World, will conquer the darkness of man's ignorance, misery and sin.
The darkness of void was shattered by the creative command of God: "Let there be light." This is symbolized by the gold and red sunburst in the upper left-hand corner. Below it is the tree of life while the creation of the birds of the air (green), the sea-monsters (pink and purple), and the stars are symbolized by the adjoining panels. The large '5' over the half moon is symbolic of the promise made (Genesis 3:15) of a Savior Who would be born of a woman.
The ark of Noah, the sacrifice of Abraham (fire on the rocks) and teh twelve tribes of Israel (stars) are depicted in the fourth panel, while the Hebrew word 'Israel' is found at the bottom of the fifth panel.
Grain led Israel to Egypt (pyramids) and into slavery (chains). God did not forget his promise but appeared to Moses in the burning bush. The three crowns of Saul, David and Solomon and the 'David Star' found in the upper corner symbolize the founding of the House of David.
